About the Role

Ausenco is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Layout Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed mechanical layouts for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain mechanical layouts for various projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical layouts with other design elements.
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables, including design criteria, drawings, and reports.
  • Manage and maintain design drafting standards across projects, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Lead and manage a team of layout designers, providing guidance and support to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and control layout budget hours and manpower loading, providing forecasts and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support proposal managers in developing proposals and estimates, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  • Comply with Ausenco's corporate policies and procedures, adhering to quality assurance, occupational health and safety, and environmental policies.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Layout Designer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and design drafting. The ideal candidate will have:

A Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent.At least 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical layout and design drafting, preferably in a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment.Experience working with gold and copper commodities, as well as layout design of mineral processing plants for studies and projects.Strong understanding of major mineral processing equipment and interconnecting equipment and chutework.Proficiency with Autodesk products, including Autocad, AdvanceSteel, and Plant3D.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.About Ausenco

Salary range: $110K - $135K. Expected salary variation is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
