Job Summary

OPSIS is seeking a highly skilled Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our water and wastewater facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest level of service to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants, including monitoring and reporting processes, chemical transferring, and maintenance tasks.
  • Collect and compile data on daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required.
  • Report operational problems to the supervisor and participate in the preparation of monthly and annual reports.
  • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting, as well as maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist the supervisor with on-call duties and participate in the company's health and safety program.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Level 2 certification in Water Treatment and Level 1-2 certification in Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection, and Water Distribution Supply.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license and a driver's abstract.
  • Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb) and excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge and hand and power tool knowledge.
