Position Summary

OPSIS is a well-established Canadian entity focused on the management, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities. We are recognized as a leading provider in the sector, ensuring high standards in service delivery.

We are currently seeking a certified Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator for a full-time role. Candidates should hold a valid Level II or higher certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment, and Collection Systems.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities and qualifications required include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain a Level II Water Treatment, Distribution, and Wastewater Treatment & Collection system.
  • Report directly to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Prepare monthly reports as required.
  • Assist with annual inspections and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct maintenance on valves and hydrants.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on various systems.
  • Ensure general facility maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collect and analyze water samples.
  • Adjust processes based on laboratory results.
  • Conduct minor maintenance on chemical injection systems.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment and online instruments.
  • Respond to process alarms and troubleshoot issues.
  • Compile necessary reports and documentation.
  • Exhibit motivation, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Uphold a positive image of OPSIS.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
Essential Qualifications
  • Level II certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, and Collection Systems (preferred)
  • OIT or Level I certification in the relevant fields (mandatory)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
