Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 per year

About the Role

VCH is seeking an experienced physician to join our Withdrawal Management team. As a Substance Use Medicine Specialist, you will provide evidence-based care to patients struggling with substance use disorders.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, counselors, and community liaison workers to deliver high-quality patient care. Your expertise will be invaluable in managing acute withdrawal, initiating and titrating OAT, and linking patients with psychosocial treatment options.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of an inter-professional shared care team. This will involve fostering a collaborative practice environment that enhances client-centered services within the site and with associated programs.

Requirements
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) licensure
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) or Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCP) certification
  • Experience with inpatient withdrawal management
