Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $74,999 to CAD $81,999 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

This exciting new opportunity at Vancouver Coastal Health offers two Nurse Practitioner positions in Vancouver Community Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services. The focus of this role is to provide high-quality patient care with a specific emphasis on mental health and substance use.

You will be part of an innovative new model for an integrated mental health and substance use residency, rotating through community and acute sites, and providing a focus on mental health, substance use, and addiction medicine services to individuals affected by social and health inequities.

  • Initiate treatment including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribe medications according to statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals and participate autonomously as a member of interdisciplinary health teams.
  • Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify trends and patterns that impact clients, families, and communities.

This position involves working closely with partners across the health system to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Four years of recent and relevant clinical nursing experience
  • Ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis
