Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Radiopharmacy Specialist

At Vancouver Coastal Health, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Vancouver General Hospital. With a focus on delivering exceptional patient care, you will play a vital role in the Nuclear Medicine department.
About the RoleThis is a full-time temporary position with a salary range of $36.69 - $45.81 per hour, based on experience. The successful candidate will be required to work 37.50 hours per week, with various shift times and days off.
Key Responsibilities- Perform additional procedures and techniques within Nuclear Medicine, including radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and special cell labeling for lower mainland hospitals.
- Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for shipping.
- Label cells using sterile techniques.
- Instruct manufacturing and cell labeling techniques to staff.
- Operate nuclear medicine laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Monitor radioactive storage areas utilizing appropriate detection devices.
- Dispose of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Two years' recent, related experience in radioisotope imaging and radiopharmacy dispensing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
