Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $86,000 and $112,000 CAD, based on the hourly rate of $41.42 to $55.91 per hour.
Job Description
This Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse Specialist role is part of our team at the Willow Pavilion Older Adult Assessment & Treatment team (Willow Pavilion 5) at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work with clients experiencing refractory psychiatric conditions, providing individualized direct nursing care, discharge planning, and case coordination services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessments and interventions to support client-centered rehabilitation and psychosocial rehabilitation programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and community resources to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor client response, and provide education on activities of daily living, medication use, and side effects.
- Document client care accurately and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
- Completion of a minimum 6-week clinical practicum/preceptorship in a mental health setting, supplemented by coursework in mental health or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
