Position OverviewVancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an experienced Accessibility Lead to enhance our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Communications within the Equity and Partnerships framework.
As an Accessibility Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our Diversity Equity Inclusion Team, driving initiatives that promote equity and inclusivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across various departments, providing guidance and mentorship to staff and medical professionals to further EDI objectives.
- Oversee project management, propose innovative initiatives, and engage with other VCH programs to support quality improvement efforts aligned with our commitment to equity and diversity.
- Act as an advisor, collaborator, and educator on accessibility matters.
- Work closely with all VCH departments to foster partnerships, implement inclusive practices, and motivate others towards EDI goals.
- Utilize your expertise in equity, diversity, and inclusion to inform strategies and initiatives.
- Employ skills in change management, project management, and evaluation to drive effective outcomes.
- Support recruitment efforts by enhancing awareness of unconscious bias among hiring managers and recruiters.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to assess accessibility progress and impact.
- Utilize creativity and strategic thinking to identify and address systemic barriers within the organization.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, or Health Administration.
- Five to seven years of experience in EDI program management, change management, organizational development, training, and program evaluation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience focused on accessibility.
Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of accessibility-focused recruitment strategies and tools to enhance diversity and inclusion.
- In-depth knowledge of human rights and employment legislation related to accessibility.
- Strong project management and planning capabilities in delivering accessibility programs.
- Experience in program evaluation and data analysis is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage various stakeholders.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and discussions with diverse teams to achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Commitment to fostering reconciliation and understanding as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
