Job Summary:

The City of Vancouver seeks a seasoned leader to manage the use of its facilities and assets for events and filming. As a key member of the management team, you will oversee the planning and production of large-scale events, ensuring they are safe, successful, and align with the library's customer service philosophy.

You will lead a team responsible for managing event coordination and filming for external rentals and large-scale programs, creating and communicating a weekly event production schedule, and acting as an expert resource for staff and management. Your exceptional relationship management skills will help maintain a cooperative interface between rental clients, library work units, the public, and other stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will require a university degree or diploma in a related field, such as event planning, and five years of recent relevant experience, including three years in a supervisory position. Strong leadership and managerial skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of risk assessment and mitigation, City of Vancouver bylaws, regulations, and policies regarding the use of public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including rental clients, library work units, and the public

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree or diploma in event planning or a related field
  • Five years of recent relevant experience, including three years in a supervisory position
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Solid understanding of risk assessment and mitigation
  • Familiarity with City of Vancouver bylaws, regulations, and policies

About the Role:

This is a regular full-time position with a salary range of $84,489 to $105,602 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate must be willing to work outside of normal office hours, including weekends and statutory holidays, and attend events in progress when required.
