Key Responsibilities- Ensure the accuracy of cost accounting data and manage project accounts
- Participate in the month-end close process, examining and analyzing ledger entries, validating balance sheets accounts, and other accounting and financial records
- Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Support the finance team with monthly financial management reports
- Assist with the budget and forecast process
- Prepare, maintain, and provide recommendations for improvements to accounting processes
- Maintain strong customer relationships by responding to inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to private information
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in finance in a manufacturing environment
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Proven experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or related roles
- Experience in performing financial analysis
- Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
- Previous experience using Sage Accounting Software, an asset
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently to meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven; prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization and ability to work well as part of a team
- Most work is carried out in a typical business office with occasional visits to the shop floor, which requires wearing personal protective equipment
- Exposure to elements such as dust, temperature, and noise during time spent on the shop floor
