About the Opportunity

Highbridge Human Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our client, Casasanta, a family-owned and operated bakery equipment manufacturing and services company. As a key member of the finance team, you will provide financial support and expertise to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy of cost accounting data and manage project accounts
  • Participate in the month-end close process, examining and analyzing ledger entries, validating balance sheets accounts, and other accounting and financial records
  • Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Support the finance team with monthly financial management reports
  • Assist with the budget and forecast process
  • Prepare, maintain, and provide recommendations for improvements to accounting processes
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by responding to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to private information
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in finance in a manufacturing environment
  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Proven experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or related roles
  • Experience in performing financial analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
  • Previous experience using Sage Accounting Software, an asset
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and independently to meet deadlines
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-driven; prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and ability to work well as part of a team
Working Conditions
  • Most work is carried out in a typical business office with occasional visits to the shop floor, which requires wearing personal protective equipment
  • Exposure to elements such as dust, temperature, and noise during time spent on the shop floor
