Protein Science Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our protein science team at AbCellera. As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in identifying lead therapeutic antibody molecules for clinical development.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed characterization of antibodies and multispecifics using analytics and biophysics techniques such as ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), capillary electrophoresis (CE), light scattering (DLS, MALS), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), isoelectric focusing (IEF)
- Concentrate and formulate antibodies to evaluate their drug-like properties such as viscosity and aggregation
- Actively contribute to assay development and troubleshooting to better understand the developability properties of potential therapeutic candidates
- Plan and execute experiments, either independently or in collaboration with your teammates
- Collaborate with teammates to solve problems, analyze, interpret and communicate data
- Support and work with members from various teams to meet project deliverables and timelines
- Grow your technical skill set and engage in professional development
- Hands-on experience with, or an interest in learning, some of the following protein characterization techniques: analytical chromatography (HPLC / UPLC), capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS), light scattering (DLS, SEC-MALS) or related techniques
- BSc in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Structural biology or related degree
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a desire to explore new technologies and opportunities to improve antibody characterization workflow and process
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret, communicate, and document results to different audiences
- Excellent documentation, organizational and communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
AbCellera offers a competitive salary range of CAD $53,900 - $67,300 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution. You will also have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, opportunity for flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
