About the Role

AbCellera is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing experiments to characterize antibodies and other therapeutic proteins using mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to analyze protein structures, post-translational modifications, and other characteristics
  • Perform mass spectrometry analysis, including intact mass, peptide mapping, glycan profiling, and other post-translational modification analysis
  • Develop and perform analytical assays for protein characterization, including UPLC, light scattering, CE-SDS, and cIEF
  • Train and mentor team members on mass spectrometry techniques and data analysis
  • Liaise with partners and communicate project updates and deliverables
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for protein characterization
Requirements
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or related field, or MSc with 5+ years of experience in an academic or industry wet lab environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in protein mass spectrometry analysis, including intact mass and peptide mapping assays
  • Experience with high-throughput characterization technologies and automation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
What We Offer

AbCellera offers a competitive salary range of CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, commensurate with education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution. You will also have access to a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
