Position Overview:
We are looking for a driven Research Scientist to spearhead in-silico structural methodologies within the realms of protein and antibody engineering. This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including software developers, laboratory scientists, bioinformaticians, and data analysts, in a dynamic setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to scientific excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute in-silico protein engineering initiatives to support the advancement of antibody reformatting techniques and therapeutic asset optimization.
- Work closely with various teams to identify engineering challenges and devise effective solutions.
- Prepare educational materials and communicate strategies, findings, and implications to colleagues.
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to the design and assessment of in-silico protein engineering workflows.
- A passion for integrating high-throughput protein engineering methods with computational tools to address real-world drug discovery challenges.
- Strong motivation and independence in identifying project requirements and implementing solutions.
- A PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in a biological research environment.
- Proficiency in Python programming and a solid understanding of in-silico protein structure design techniques, particularly using the Rosetta software suite.
- Familiarity with antibody structure and function, as well as techniques for molecular design and evaluation of antibody or antigen libraries.
- Knowledge of experimental analytical and biophysical methods for antibody characterization, including size exclusion chromatography (SEC), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), and surface plasmon resonance (SPR).
What We Offer:
AbCellera provides a competitive salary range of CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, aligned with your qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include equity options, performance-based bonuses, and a 6% RRSP contribution.
