Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing experiments to characterize antibodies and other therapeutic proteins using mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments to analyze antibodies and other therapeutic proteins using mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques.
- Perform detailed protein structural interrogation, including sequence confirmation, sequence variant identification, disulfide mapping, and chemical modifications.
- Develop and perform analytical assays for protein characterization, including UPLC, light scattering, CE-SDS, and cIEF.
- Train and mentor members of the research team.
- Solve complex problems at a high level.
- Liaise with partners and communicate project updates and deliverables.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Organize and support team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.
- PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or a related field, or MSc with 5+ years of experience in an academic or industry wet lab environment with emphasis on mass spectrometry.
- Demonstrated expertise in protein mass spectrometry analysis, including intact mass and peptide mapping assays for identifying and quantifying post-translational modifications on antibodies.
- Experience with high-throughput characterization technologies and analytical chromatography, light scattering, thermal denaturation, or other analytical or biophysical techniques.
- Hands-on experience with sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Self-motivated and able to meet goals under tight project timelines.
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.
AbCellera offers a competitive salary range of CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, commensurate with education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
