Corporate Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controller to join our team at Gay Lea Foods. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with ASPE and other regulatory requirements.
- Reconciliation and Analysis: Perform reconciliations and variance analyses to explain significant fluctuations and trends.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and manage tax filings, audits, and assessments.
- Accounting Policy Development: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
- Year-End Audit: Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Financial Planning: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analyses as needed.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of staff and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support Functions: Support other departments as needed, and projects like finance transformation, paperless strategy.
- A CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the dairy or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE, tax laws, and accounting best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems, consolidations, and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
