About the Role:

The Account Manager will be responsible for growing profit for Univar's market share using a consultative selling process. This involves identifying and capturing new business opportunities at existing accounts and prospective new accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively plan customer visits 1-2 weeks in advance to build strong relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services within the natural gas industry, focusing on growing our industrial footprint within Fort St. John and surrounding areas.
  • Arrange frequent joint calls with Univar and Supplier Technical Service Specialists at customer sites to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high-integrity sampling program for key customers to ensure accurate product quality and compliance.
  • Co-ordinate with Customer Service and Operations to maintain customer service levels and ensure resolution of complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Co-ordinate with Purchasing department to ensure availability of product and meet customer demands.
  • Develop selling strategies with corporate team members to target and grow sales at Key Accounts, utilizing Salesforce.com to manage customer information during all planning phases.
  • Travel within the territory is expected on a regular basis with possibility of overnight travel to meet with customers and partners.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support the growth and success of the company.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years (or more) previous sales and/or customer facing experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Chemical sales experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and eager mentality to drive sales growth and meet customer demands.
  • Ability to relate to, and communicate with individuals at all levels, from entry-level to senior management.

What We Offer:

The annual expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - 95,000, with opportunities for bonus incentive pay and a Northern Living Allowance. The company also offers a company vehicle and a global network of more than 10,000 employees.
