About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as a Child Protection Specialist with the BC Public Service Agency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting child protection assessments and developing safety plans in collaboration with families and community agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of child protection cases to identify risks and develop effective safety plans.
  • Collaborate with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide education and support to families to promote healthy relationships and parenting practices.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in child protection.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in child protection or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and families.
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation and policies.
