Job Title: Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at The Big Playhouse. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to their individual needs.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and learning, such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local points of interest.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and maintain a clean and safe environment for children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Experience working with young children an asset
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week
  • Fluency in English
