British Columbia Children's Hospital (BCCH) is a leading acute care facility dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare for the province's most critically ill and injured children and youth. As the primary pediatrics clinical training site for the University of British Columbia (UBC), BCCH fosters a collaborative environment that emphasizes family-centered care, education, and research.

The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at BCCH is seeking a dedicated Clinician Specialist to contribute to both the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) and the Child Protection Services Unit (CPSU).

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical assessments for children suspected of physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment and serious neglect.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
  • Engage in teaching activities to support medical education within the division.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada specialty and/or sub-specialty credentials in Pediatrics, or eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated commitment to hospital-based General Pediatrics practice.
  • Exemplary clinical skills and a proven ability to work effectively with families during challenging situations.
  • A strong dedication to ethical medical practice and patient advocacy.
