About the Role

This is a challenging and meaningful role for a fully qualified child protection worker with C6 delegation under the Child, Family and Community Service Act. As a Child Protection Worker with the BC Public Service Agency, you will be part of a team that provides province-wide child protection screening services in a fast-paced, 24-7, rotating shift work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide child protection services to children and families in need
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to ensure the well-being of children and families
  • Develop and implement plans to support children and families in need
  • Provide education and support to families to promote healthy relationships and parenting practices
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to child protection
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work or Child and Youth Care
  • Current C6 delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA)
  • Minimum 1 year of related work experience in child protection or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology or Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)
  • Child Welfare Specialization from an accredited British Columbia university
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language
