Job Description

This is a full-time opportunity to work between two hospitals, providing emergency medical services to patients in need. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients, order diagnostic tests, and laboratory procedures
  • Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient advocate
  • Presume and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a valid license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and have certification in Emergency Medicine. Additional requirements include membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Critical Care in the Emergency Department (CCrISP), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and emergency department experience.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000 to $300,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation time, professional development opportunities, and access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

Location

Both Yarmouth Regional Hospital and Digby General Hospital are located in the scenic southwest region of Nova Scotia. This area offers a unique blend of urban and rural living, with easy access to outdoor recreation and cultural attractions.
