Emergency Physician Opportunity in Nova Scotia

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Physician to join our team at Yarmouth Regional Hospital and Digby General Hospital. These hospitals are located in the southwest region of Nova Scotia, serving a population of approximately 60,000 in three counties.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in teaching through the Family Medicine Residency Program based in Yarmouth and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University.
Job Summary- Examine patients, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient advocate
- Presume and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
This role is a full-time position between YRH and DGH, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications- College of Family Physicians of Canada Emergency Medicine certification would be considered an asset
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Previous experience in emergency department settings is an asset
The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
