Job Title: Associate, Sagard Private Equity Canada

Sagard Private Equity Canada is a leading mid-market private equity firm focused on partnering with Canadian companies to accelerate their growth path and assist them in becoming market leaders.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Associate to join our team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening investment opportunities, assisting in due diligence, and participating in company valuation and investment structuring.

Responsibilities:
  • Screening of investment opportunities and pipeline management
  • Assisting in the due diligence and underwriting of new investment opportunities
  • Active participation in company valuation and investment structuring
  • Coordinating and interacting with external due diligence advisors
  • Financial modeling of new opportunities and ongoing tracking of investments
  • Key role in preparing memos for the fund's Investment Committee
  • Active role in portfolio management, interacting with management teams and observing at board meetings
  • Training of interns
  • Establishing a network with peers to fuel business development
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience (Accounting, Investment Banking, Consulting)
  • Fully bilingual (for Montreal office)
  • Strong business acumen with a passion for mid-market investing
  • Mastery of financial modeling
  • Strong research skills and investor thought process
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Data-driven with strong attention to detail
