Job Title: Telecommunications Line Technician

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Line Technician to join our team at Prema Telecom Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.

Work Environment

Our Telecommunications Line Technician will work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces. You will be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures, and connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.

Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause, and location of trouble
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
  • Splice, join, and connect wires
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
