Job Summary

M-TECH IT & TELECOM SERVICES LTD is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to minimize downtime
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access for customers
  • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets as needed
  • Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment, and software to ensure optimal performance
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports to document work completed
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and take corrective action
  • Instruct apprentices on telecommunications equipment and network maintenance
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in telecommunications equipment installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a variety of locations, including installation and maintenance sites
Work Environment

The Telecommunications Technician will work in a variety of locations, including installation and maintenance sites, and will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with extreme temperatures.
