Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team at ARES Staffing Solutions.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to leverage their expertise in occupational health and safety to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in coordinating company-wide health and safety activities and requirements.
  2. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to meet regulatory health and safety standards.
  3. Collaborate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to identify hazards, conduct inspections, and recommend solutions.
  4. Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, preparing comprehensive reports and statistics.
  5. Maintain accurate records of health and safety training, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  6. Communicate effectively with external providers regarding training services, equipment, and PPE.
Qualifications
  1. Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, preferably with an OHS Certificate.
  2. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and its regulations.
  3. Experience: Proven experience in incident investigation, report writing, and health and safety program implementation.
  4. Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Technical: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Other: A valid G driver's license and a clean driving abstract for travel to customer sites as needed.
Compensation Package

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
