About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the site meets its financial and operational goals, including safety, quality, service, cost productivity, and working capital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead key aspects of site operations, including management of local day-to-day operations and local point of contact for site projects.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to minimize the impact of barriers and challenges that could negatively affect operations.
  • Deploy the Management System tool set, utilizing the Daily Management system to run the factory daily and ensure targets are met.
  • Eliminate waste throughout manufacturing operations through deployment of Lean tools and processes, driving a continuous improvement culture, and promoting employee engagement.
  • Utilize VSM, transformation roadmap planning, and A3 Thinking to develop and deploy targeted kaizens, projects, and Just Do It projects to drive Operational Excellence.
  • Interface with various stakeholders, including Executives, VP Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Human Resource, Engineering, customers, union officials, tenant leadership, and suppliers, to promote communication and collaboration.
  • Identify, propose, and obtain approval for large, impactful projects to drive step-change improvements in facility performance.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through implementation and maintenance of company-directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture.
  • Collect and report data necessary to track performance of the manufacturing operation against plan, identify root causes of issues, and support problem-solving efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field, plus 1-2 years of experience in industrial manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Lean tools and practices, driving a strong Lean/Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Proven track record of delivering results against objectives.
  • Flexibility and willingness to drive change in a fast-paced, hands-on evolving environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts, including P&L Statements, Working Capital, Cash Flow, and manufacturing variances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to foster open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
