Chief Financial and Investment Officer – Canada & USA

Purpose of the Role:

The Chief Financial and Investment Officer (CFIO) plays a pivotal role in developing and communicating World Renew's investment strategy and policies, contributing to business strategy, managing the investment portfolio of the organization, making decisions on asset allocation, and risk management across the portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts on a global scale while maintaining the highest regulatory and audit standards.

The CFIO will lead a team of professionals based in different geographies, ensuring World Renew's financial sustainability and guiding decision-making through accurate projections and insightful analyses. Collaboration with the executive leadership team and the Boards of Directors (US & Canada) is essential in driving the organization's growth and impact.

This job opportunity is open to candidates who are legally entitled to work in Canada or the United States of America.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing the existing portfolio and identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Identifying financial risks and devising plans for mitigating them.
  • Researching investment opportunities and creating an investment strategy with recommendations that matches the company's strategic goals.
  • Analyzing World Renew's financial statements and reports and modifying the investment strategy based on the data.
  • Compiling and presenting regular reports on investment performance.
Global Financial Forecasting and Budgeting:
  • Leading the development of comprehensive financial forecasts and budgets for World Renew's global operations.
  • Utilizing historical data, trends, and other relevant factors to create accurate and realistic financial projections.
Work Environment, Physical and Other Demands:

Travel within North America is required for meetings and conferences as needed, with occasional international travel possible, including destinations with rough terrain and unreliable access to water and electricity.
