Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Ottawa Office (Up to 3 days per week) and Ottawa-based Home Office

Reporting To: Financial Manager, Projects and Products

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects and software products. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data scientists, product leaders, and clients, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage AI software development projects from initiation to closure.
  • Manage software product developments.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate scope, objectives, and project deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed level of effort estimates, WBS project plans, and KPIs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and progress toward project goals.
  • Monitor project performance, track progress, and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project success.
  • Facilitate effective communication between team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Prepare and present regular project status, minutes, actions, and reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in software development or AI-related projects.
  • Ability to work cohesively and professionally within a team-based structure.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter who can be trusted with project-critical tasks and paths.
  • Experience working in software development lifecycles, such as predictive, iterative, and incremental software development lifecycles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects with strict deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and other project management tools, like Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Required to meet qualifications to obtain a Canadian Government security clearance (typically requires the candidate to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada).
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or similar certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security considerations in IT projects.
  • Experience with client-facing roles and managing client relationships.
