Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by determining each prospective client's vehicle needs through active listening and questioning.
  • Promote new business and contribute to the company's customer base by seeking new customers through prospecting and referral networks.
  • Sell new and pre-owned vehicles, and demonstrate vehicles (including test drives).
  • Stay up-to-date on the terminology of the automobile business and technological changes in all products/inventory.
  • Participate in product training to ensure thorough knowledge of all products, including features, specifications, prices, colors, options, and standard equipment.
  • Use effective closing techniques and ask for help from management when necessary.
  • Deliver new and pre-owned vehicles to customers and ensure they understand the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to Service Department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of the dealership's service operations.
  • Set goals for monthly productivity and plan how to reach them.
  • Follow all dealership processes and procedures to ensure excellent Customer Satisfaction Index ratings.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Follow company safety policies and practices, and report any accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including internet and MS Office, with the ability to maintain records using a computerized system.
  • Effective negotiation skills and ability to make sound decisions.
  • A Current VSA MDC License and a valid British Columbia Driver's License with a good driving record.
