About the Position

This is an indefinite-term position that may expire with 48 hours' notice. We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As a Clinical Psychosocial Care Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing basic consultation, clinical assessment, treatment, referral, and counseling services to cancer patients and their families;
  • Participating in an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, people-centered cancer care;
  • Developing and delivering psychosocial oncology and supportive care education to patients, staff, and community groups;
  • Maintaining strong professional links with provincial psychosocial oncology practitioners and staying up-to-date with national practice standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or BN (RN), BPSN (RPN) or equivalent in a related mental health specialty, and a clinical internship/field placement from an accredited program;
  • A Master's degree is preferred;
  • Licensure in the appropriate provincial licensing body;
  • Knowledge of Regional and Provincial Cancer Care services and resources is an asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook;
  • A minimum of three years of related clinical practice experience and three to five years of clinical counseling experience in a healthcare setting;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Good physical and mental health to perform the position regularly;
  • Demonstrated competence in clinical skills, including psychosocial assessments and counseling interventions;
  • Demonstrated professional responsibility and accountability while practicing with a high degree of autonomy;
  • The ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population;
  • Proficiency in both official languages for target and designated bilingual positions.
