At Albany Medical Center, we are seeking a dynamic and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated team in the Vascular Surgery Office. This per diem position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to provide high-quality patient care and be part of a collaborative healthcare environment.

About the Role

This LPN role will work under the direction of the attending physician, RN, Lead LPN or practice coordinator, providing direct patient care and assisting in clinical functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively present information to patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain and accurately record patient's vital signs
  • Document components of patient's history
  • Communicate with patients, visitors, and staff in an open and appropriate manner
  • Participate in in-office procedures under supervision
  • Perform diagnostic CLIA waived testing
  • Perform venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing
  • Prescription call-backs within scope of practice
  • Prep patient's chart for pertinent clinical information
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and keep patient examination rooms stocked
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current NYS license as a licensed practical nurse
  • Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
