About the Role

The Director, Finance Data Analytics will play a key role in driving the Finance organization's analytics strategy forward, enabling a data-driven culture and delivering business insights to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data analytics strategy, aligning with the Finance organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver data analytics solutions, leveraging tools and technologies such as Tableau and AWS.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, data scientists, and technology partners.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data architecture, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies in data analytics, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Lead a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver data analytics projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant business experience in data science, advanced analytics, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in analytics life-cycle and best practices for developing, testing, rolling out, operating, and maintaining a portfolio of data analytics.
  • Technical expertise with mathematical algorithms, libraries, Python, or other coding languages, as well as AWS and other tools enabling prototyping or operating analytics.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, relational databases, and MS Office.
  • Ability to translate business requirements to technology requirements and vice versa.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security practices relevant to the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong results-oriented project management skills, with a well-organized approach, strong attention to detail, and quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills, catering to various levels of management and audience with varying degrees of subject matter comprehension.
  • Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to influence the performance of others to deliver results.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and sound decision-making ability.
  • Technology collaborator, building close partnership with technology teams to deliver solutions.
