About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Data to lead our data practice at AgencyAnalytics. As a key strategic partner, you will leverage technical skills and business knowledge to prepare compelling insights that drive strategic decision-making and strengthen our business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Data Analytics Team: Build and manage a high-performing team of data developers, data engineers, data analysts, and BI engineers to drive business value and exceptional experiences for our customers and internal users.
  • Develop Data Strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives, including long-term roadmaps for data projects.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure our data services meet the highest standards of operational excellence.
  • Improve Data Processes: Continuously seek ways to improve data processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive Business & Product Analytics: Work with business and product teams to ensure the BI platform empowers reporting and data literacy across the organization.
  • Deliver Data-Driven Insights: Deliver data-driven recommendations and insights clearly and concisely to all levels, including C-Suite stakeholders, across all areas of the organization.
  • Standardize Business & Product KPIs: Explore, define, and standardize our business and product KPIs and metrics to provide efficient and meaningful reporting capabilities across the organization.
  • Develop Data Science Capabilities: Develop our capabilities and process maturity to improve the integrity and quality of our data assets through data stewardship, validation, and monitoring of our most critical operational reporting.
  • Lead User Growth Models: Lead the work to build and scale user growth models that drive and inform predictive user growth.
  • Evolve Impact Frameworks: Develop and evolve impact frameworks to help Product Managers prioritize product releases based on impact.
  • Standardize Data Assets: Lead the development of standardized data assets within the data warehouse to help consolidate the collective understanding of our organizational data.
  • Foster Data Literacy: Foster a community across departments on improving data literacy in our business and product data assets.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience leading data analytics teams, preferably leveraging business and product data in a SaaS business model.
  • Post-secondary degree, in computer science, business, and/or engineering, MBA or similar an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge, architecture, and technical skills using common data management tools, (e.g. Excel, SQL, R/Python, GCP, Metabase, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Experience with a combination of the following would be preferred; DataForm, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Proven experience working with Product, Development, Technology, and Business teams to deliver customer-facing value in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid intuitive understanding of data modeling fundamentals, and how they inform data sources and usability and warehouse and pipeline design.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong detail orientation is essential in this role.
