Job Title: Service Electrical Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Control Systems Designer to join our team at ATS Automation. As an Electrical Control Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with mechanical designers to design control systems that meet customer specifications and safety standards.
• Develop complete electrical design packages, including detailed schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
• Work with the Controls Engineering Department to improve methods of integrating controls technology and reduce costs.
• Specify electrical and controls-related hardware and software, and produce requisitions for material purchases.
• Integrate third-party equipment and electronic components into electrical design packages.
• Verify that electrical design packages are complete, accurate, and safe before issuing them to the shop floor.
• Work with customers, project managers, designers, and electricians to solve problems and provide complete, functional systems.
• Provide customers with training on electrical hardware, machine operation, programming principles, and program functionality.

Qualifications:

• A post-secondary technology diploma or engineering degree in electronics, electrical, or controls technology.
• Three years of experience in electrical control systems design, preferably in the industrial automation field.
• Working knowledge of ePlan and AutoCAD, and the ability to keep up-to-date with leading-edge technology.
