We are seeking a talented Senior Electrical Controls Designer to join our growing team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers throughout the design process to develop control systems that ensure safe and reliable machine operation.
  • Create comprehensive electrical design packages, including schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisitions, adhering to ATS standards and customer requirements.
  • Work with colleagues in the Controls Engineering Department and other teams to continuously improve methods for integrating control technologies, focusing on enhanced safety, functionality, and cost reduction.
  • Contribute to budget management by ensuring adherence to labor and material budgets.
  • Specify electrical and controls-related hardware and software, generating requisitions for material purchases.
  • Integrate third-party equipment and electronic components into electrical design packages, encompassing various applications such as serial and network communications, hardware handshaking, opto-isolation, welding, vision systems, motion control, transducers, and signal conditioners.
  • Verify the completeness, accuracy, and safety of electrical design packages based on sound design practices and accepted standards. Ensure I/O drawings meet program requirements before issuing them to the shop floor.
  • Work closely with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to resolve issues and deliver a complete, functional system.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
