Job Description

Richard Bland College is seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to support the achievement of Tier 2 operational authority in IT and procurement. This role will play a critical part in the College's efforts to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the project team in interpreting and tracking timelines related to the Virginia Acts of Assembly-2008 Session, Chapter 824.
  • Assist in building on the project team's strategic vision for implementing Tier 2 operational authority.
  • Schedule meetings and develop agendas for project team discussions and task assignments.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Coordinate activities and details related to Tier 2 work, including facilitating bi-weekly team meetings and tracking progress.
  • Conduct research to inform the project team of the latest developments in achieving Tier 2 operational authority.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure the project team meets deadlines and completes project objectives.
  • Coordinate with college staff and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable SCHEV guidance and the 2005 Performance Restructuring Act.
  • Experience with project management principles and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Knowledge of Virginia state government operations and authority.
  • Experience working in higher education institutions.
  • Knowledge of the Virginia Higher Education Tier 2 process and legislation.
