Job Title: Transitional Support Worker

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Transitional Support Worker to join our team at the Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses. As a key member of our staff, you will provide critical support services to women and their dependents who have experienced abuse and are transitioning out of our emergency shelter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transitional plans to help clients access community resources and achieve independence and stability in their lives.
  • Provide supportive counseling, outreach, and advocacy services to clients, including assistance with accessing services such as counseling, parental support, education upgrading, job training, income support resources, legal aid, and health services.
  • Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining housing, including eviction prevention work.
  • Work collaboratively with the Outreach team to provide comprehensive support services to clients.
  • Participate in community meetings and events to promote the organization's mission and values.
  • Represent the organization in the community, providing workshops and public education on issues related to woman abuse and its effects on children.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, community resources, and harm reduction practices.
  • Sensitivity and awareness of cultural, racial, economic, and socially diverse communities.
  • Ability to administer Naloxone and provide harm reduction supports.
  • Second language an asset.
