Civil Engineer in Training

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer in Training to join our team as a Community Development Specialist. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients in the Saskatchewan and southern Alberta region.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement land development projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and municipal approvals.
- Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and figures using AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and other relevant design tools.
- Support the preparation of construction drawings and technical reports, including site grading, site servicing, and utility design.
- Liaise with municipalities and other approving authorities to advocate for client objectives and ensure efficient project advancement.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and municipal and provincial approving authorities.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews for various deliverables.
- Gain valuable hands-on experience as an on-site observer for active construction projects, liaising with contractors, surveyors, and municipal inspectors.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, roadway, lot design, and stormwater engineering concepts.
- Ability to work as a team player and engage in constructive and creative collaboration.
- Eager to take a solution-oriented approach to solving problems.
- High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn additional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered as an Engineer in Training in the Province of Saskatchewan and in good standing, or eligibility to be registered within the next 6 months.
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience recommended, however, we are seeking highly motivated team members and provide comprehensive training and development of high potential candidates.
