Position Overview:

Compensation:
$46.00/hour (including market supplement)

Candidates should possess a solid background in project management specifically related to road construction contracts, as well as expertise in the design and rehabilitation of roadways. Experience in drafting contracts and tracking construction budgets is essential, along with strong communication skills for engaging with the public in both verbal and written formats.

This role involves providing research, management, and professional engineering advice focused on the oversight of transportation infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering technical and business reports, contract documents, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Managing and directing the efforts of consultants, contractors, and operational teams.
  • Interpreting and analyzing data and processes to develop viable options and recommendations.
  • Reviewing and approving standard roadway and transportation engineering proposals and plans.
  • Mentoring and training staff in a culture that values innovation and collaboration.
  • Leading or advising on various departmental project teams or committees.

Qualifications include:

  • A University degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil or Environmental Systems, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation engineering principles, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in productivity software such as MS Office and specialized software like AutoCad Civil 3D.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex data and interpret regulations.
  • Expertise in project management principles and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and budgets effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.

A valid Class Five (5) driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are required. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to corporate values and initiatives.
