Brandt Developments is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to oversee projects at our Regina, SK location. This role is crucial for the design and endorsement of civil engineering initiatives, as well as the preparation of reports, estimates, and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and endorsement of civil engineering projects, including grading, stormwater management, underground utilities, and surface enhancements, ensuring compliance with provincial and municipal standards.
  • Oversee the design and detailing of civil components for various projects, which includes creating design plans, technical details, and engineering specifications.
  • Guide the civil design team throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide internal landscaping guidance or collaborate with external landscape architects as necessary.
  • Assess and explore preliminary civil layouts and engineering alternatives during the development planning phase.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants for planning, legal surveys, geotechnical assessments, and other consulting services.
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and engineering reports.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications that align with Brandt's requirements and adhere to sound engineering practices.
  • Investigate field and design challenges and compile reports.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and establish testing procedures, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Implement and uphold quality control protocols, reviewing and enhancing engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications.
  • Engage with clients, authorities, and contractors effectively.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules as needed.
  • Provide insights and advice on the technical and civil aspects of projects.
  • Conduct site inspections during the construction phase, addressing and following up on project-related issues.
  • Perform contract administration duties, including attending meetings, reviewing submissions, and preparing site inspection reports.
  • Commit to continuous improvement while mentoring and supporting interdisciplinary project team members.
  • Collaborate with other internal design departments (e.g., Architecture, Interior Design, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical) to ensure project success.
  • Possess knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), civil engineering international codes and standards, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Must hold a license to practice as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan.
  • Experience in site surveying is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with a team of architects, engineers, and technologists.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive, driven attitude are essential.

Required Experience
