As a system specialist at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a crucial role in driving technical innovation and excellence in our middle office and back-office applications.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $140,000-$180,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.

About the Job

This senior technical system analyst role involves providing technical solutions and automation for middle office and back-office applications, as well as delivering timely support for production issues with the platform.

You will work closely with team members and business partners to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.

  • 60% System Design, Development, and Deployment; 30% Production Support and Analysis; 10% Documentation
  • Develop and support middle and back-office applications for new projects and system defects.
  • Tackle complex problems through proactive identification of system inefficiencies and provide proposals and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tactical and strategic solutions for system RoadMap items.
Requirements

To succeed in this challenging role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields, with at least 8 years of experience in software design and development.
  • Strong core Java skills, including experience with large-scale web or client-server applications.
  • Experience with tcl, perl, shell, Python scripting languages under Unix/Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL programming language.
  • Knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Previous experience working on enterprise applications/systems in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
  • Financial industry experience, preferably in capital markets trading, middle office, and back-office.
