About the Opportunity

The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, working collaboratively with therapists to deliver interventions that promote movement, occupation, and function. This position requires a strong understanding of rehabilitation principles and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned interventions to patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function
  • Check and clean equipment, maintain treatment and storage areas, and order necessary supplies
  • Work collaboratively with the patient care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation
