Rehabilitation Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with therapists, patients, and families to provide education and promote movement, occupation, and function.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 or equivalent education
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational ability to manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset (French preferred)
- Access to reliable transportation
This is a part-time long assignment, working 50% FTE, with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The assignment is approximately 8 months in duration.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $25.82. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
