Research Scientist I, In Vivo Pharmacokinetics

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate new analytical methods for the detection of antibody-based therapeutics, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform ELISA and MSD testing with a high degree of precision, analyzing data to generate pharmacokinetics parameters and prepare results for internal presentations.
  • Contribute to the design of in vivo pharmacokinetic studies, overseeing sample management, including receipt, organization, and archiving, while maintaining complete and accurate records.
  • Assist with method transfer to Zymeworks colleagues and external partners, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with established procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment in good working order, adhering to scientific standards, OS&H regulations, and Zymeworks' policies and practices.
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date lab notebooks or electronic notebooks, adhering to Zymeworks' standard procedures for generating, documenting, and archiving data.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in a wet lab setting in either a pharmaceutical industry or academic research laboratory.

Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience with ELISA is required, with experience with GLP and ELISA automation being an asset.
  • Experience with cell-based assays and/or protein analytics, including immunoprecipitation, is an asset.
  • Previous experience with non-compartmental analysis (NCA) is an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines, with proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
