Labor and Employment Law Assistant

We are seeking a talented individual to fill a 12-month maternity leave replacement position as a Labor and Employment Law Assistant. This role offers a unique chance to join a dynamic team and collaborate in a flexible, human-centered environment.

Responsibilities:
- Proactively support professionals in managing and following up on their cases
- Coordinate schedules and ensure necessary follow-ups for appointments, meetings, hearings, events, and committees
- Ensure deadlines are met and follow up on client files and deliverables
- Make reminders and follow-ups with current and potential clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Prepare required documentation for various planned events
- Transcribe dictations, proofread, and correct documents
- Manage file openings and billing
- Prepare expense allocations
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Degree in secretarial studies, legal secretarial studies, or equivalent training
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in legal secretarial work ideally in labor and employment law
- Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) to assist lawyers in both languages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite especially Word (intermediate/advanced level), Outlook, and Excel
- Familiarity with Maître and iManage Work 10 software (an asset)
- Excellent client orientation, courtesy, and professionalism
- Responsibility, attention to detail, and good organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Team spirit and a sense of initiative
