Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Alpine Irrigation is seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grounds maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring our grounds are well-maintained and meet our high standards.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of labour and materials.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including labour hours, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Manage contracts with external vendors, ensuring they meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues and provide guidance to staff to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Various locations.
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Duration of Employment: Permanent.
  • Language of Work: English.
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week.
