Job Overview

About the Role

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with our interprofessional care team, advocating for patients' rights and promoting person-centered care. Your strong communication skills and ability to teach and instruct patients and families will enable you to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, collecting information from various sources and using clinical reasoning to determine appropriate nursing interventions.
- Develop and implement effective care plans, collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers to ensure their needs are met.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to provide comprehensive care planning and delivery, addressing any issues that may affect the care/discharge plan.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to support staff as needed.

Qualifications

- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Requirements

- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare professionals using verbal, written, and electronic means.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enabling you to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which includes standing for extended periods, lifting, and transferring patients safely.
