Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Royal Columbian Hospital. This role involves working collaboratively with primary care teams to recognize early signs of clinical deterioration and intervene quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and collect information from various sources using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment skills
  • Makes nursing diagnoses and determines whether conditions can be improved or resolved through appropriate interventions
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates nursing plans and protocols requiring specific skills such as Sepsis Protocol and Induced Hypothermia Protocol
  • Collaborates with interprofessional care teams to stabilize patients, transfer them to designated areas, or modify care plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Two years' recent related acute care experience and completion of a nursing program in critical care or emergency nursing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Compensation

The salary for this position is approximately $58.15 per hour, based on the estimated annual salary range of $120,170-$128,570.
