Dietitian - Nutrition & Food Services Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Food Services team. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. You will advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients.
You will participate in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, including preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students. The successful candidate will employ an evidence-informed approach to practice, collaborating with healthcare team providers to share nutrition expertise and ensure quality and continuity of care.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. A minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset. You will have competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counselling patients. You will also have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Hours
- Permanent Part-time, 70% FTE, 52.5 hours biweekly
- Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Incentives
The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. The hourly rate is $32.95 - $43.43.
